v Bouffant v
The bouffant is one of the most highly recognizable styles for its practice of piling long hair up in the back of the head with the remaining hair often hanging down. There are several ways that a bouffant can be shaped, from twirling and layering to letting hair gel sit overnight. A lot of hairspray is often used to hold this style in place.
Long, straight and simple was one of the more popular forms of hair in the 1970s. It was seen among both genders, but especially among women. Hair was grown out all the way down to the lower torso and then brushed straight down and parted down the middle with no bangs in the front. Often the hair is brushed so it drapes over the front of the torso as well as the back.
The Pixie was usually popular for women with short hair. It was cut and layered almost like a traditional boys haircut.
